THE MYSTERY ADDICTS were formed in the fall of ’96 out of the ashes of Dayton bands LOVE LIES BLEEDING & HAUNTING SOULS.

They toured the Midwest extensively & released i cassette e.p., one 7" vinyl e.p. on Milwaukee’s Beer City Records & 1 full length CD. They also contributed songs to 2 Compilation CD's, A Fistful of Rock N Roll Volume 12, & Drunk on Rock 2.

Have also appeared on WARPED TOUR 2002 & shared bills with:
ELECTRIC FRANKENSTEIN, DEMOLITION DOLL RODS,
DEAD KENNEDYS, GAZA STRIPPERS, GUIDED BY VOICES,
IODINE, HOWLIN’ MAGGIE, ELEVEN, THE PRISSTEENS,
MODERN ENGLISH, WANDA CHROME & THE LEATHER PHARAOHS,
JACK BLACK, TRASH BRATS, FLIPP, GLENMONT POPES,
CHICKENHAWKS, & JEFF DAHL.

The original line-up was:

Steven Gullett - Vocals & Guitar
Jamy Holliday - Guitar & Vocals
Bryan Labonte - Drums
Eric Purtle - Bass & Vocals

After one cassette & one 7" Eric left the band to be replaced by D. Williamson (formally of FREAKSTROBE) on bass in 1998.

The band limped along through a disaterous attempt to record a CD & soon broke up in the Summer of 1999. They reunited with Eric on bass for what was supposed to be their farewell show on Halloween '99.

Steven moved away for 6 months, then the band reunited to play a tribute show to Kevin Kelley who died in April 2000.

Since then they've healed up old scars & decided to try the band again. They vowed this time not to fuck it up. Both Eric Purtle (of Mondolux) & Tod Weidner (of Shrug) have filled in on the bass for live shows and in the studio.

In the Spring of 2001 the full-length CD "Unluck and Shame" was relaesed and Paul Bard joined the boys on bass. Then East coast & West coast tours followed through 2002. The group disbanded in the Winter of 2002.
